BACKSTORY
It all started when…
I arrived at Rock springs Airport in Wyoming - July 2000. I was a wide eyed kid from the African Continent (Ethiopia to be exact). I received a scholarship to attend college and I was ready to take over the world (pasture). Overnight I was displaced and completely detached from my friends and family, no instagram, no facebook, no cell phone. I might has well been on Mars, My dad who accompanied me on the trip handed me $350 and said “Go make something of yourself.” This was my start.

Why I Started S-7 Studios
My reason for starting a business wasn’t because I wanted to be my own boss, because everyone has a boss, as a business owner your clients are your boss and they’re even more demanding!!
I started because:
I wanted to build something bigger than myself that I can hand-off to my kids.
I’ve spent 14 years helping others build brands and companies. Working on Startups, Established name brands and everything in between. I had worked non-stop for years and the pandemic brought with it illuminating perspective. One day I woke up to the realization that all my work amounted to just a salary, no ownership. Which leads me to my second point.
Legacy. My grandfather was a business visionary that owned and operated business starting in his late 20’s. Starting in the firearms business, then an insurance agency, at his peak he owned a Rubber Goods and recycling factory which resulted in him receiving a distinguished medal for entrepreneurship. Although he enjoyed financial success his main goal was to uplift and carry his community. He trained hired and fed the underprivileged and unfortunate. Even though he lost most of what he accumulated during the communist regime change, his impact and legacy still lives on.
I wanted to extend my creative range. I had accumulated a great deal of knowledge/information across many different industries. Sharing my insight and approach could help others without any exclusivity of being tied to a single corporation. I also learn a great deal by interacting with those outside my circle.
My parents, specifically my dad, an eternal optimist and risk taker who lives everyday like its the last. He created a path for himself that doesn’t look like anyone else’s. Cheers!
